The Team

Rick LaRue brings nearly three decades’ experience in nonprofit fundraising and management to SELF. He was the Deputy Director and Director of Development of the American Society of International Law (1999-2009), and ran the Urban Land Institute’s foundation from 1992 to 1999, building philanthropic and public services programs and securing the organization’s first smart growth grant in 1997. Rick’s prior employers include the Eisenhower World Affairs Institute, Business Executives for National Security, and the Citizens Party, where he worked with Barry Commoner. He received his M.B.A from the University of Maryland and his B.A. in Political Science from George Washington University, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
