Jerome Uwimana, Assistant Project Manager/Senior Technician
Jerome Uwimana is an engineer from Kigali, Rwanda, who joined the SELF staff in 2008 to help install and maintain SELF’s photovoltaic systems in eastern Africa. He previously worked as the Technical Director at Great Lakes Energy in Rwanda and as Project Manager with Modern Technologies Services (MTS), the nation’s leading solar company. While at MTS, he was assigned to help SELF install a system at the Mulindi clinic run by Partners In Health. Since joining SELF, he has installed more than 40 systems, ranging in size from 2 to 10 kW, in Rwanda, Burundi, and Lesotho.
Jerome received his bachelor’s degree in electromechanical engineering from the Kigali Institute of Science, Technology and Management in 2005.
